Travel Advisory: Weekend Lane Closure Planned on Route 146 in Lincoln for Tree Work

RHODE ISLAND, October 23 - Starting on Saturday, October 24, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) will begin a series of lane closures on Route 146 in the vicinity of Exit 5 (Route 123/Breakneck Hill Road) in Lincoln for tree work. The first operation will require the closure of the right lane on Route 146 North near Exit 5 from 6 a.m. to noontime.

This operation likely will cause some congestion. RIDOT recommends motorists plan for additional travel time or seek an alternate route.

RIDOT will be doing extensive tree cutting on the side of the road to remove any dead limbs and trees that might be too close or leaning toward the highway.

RIDOT will schedule additional lane closures on Saturdays this fall. Detailed lane closure information will be posted as it becomes available at www.ridot.net/TravelAdvisories.

RIDOT chose Saturdays to do this work to limit the impact on weekday commuting traffic. Daytime hours are required for this type of work. All schedules are subject to change.
