First construction season wraps up
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Construction on the two-year reconstruction project on Highway 95 through Cambridge will hit a major milestone on Thursday, Oct. 8, as the first season wraps up, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
In six months, crews reconstructed from Fern Street to west of Main Street, including sidewalks and adjacent entrances; and replaced underground storm sewer and utilities.
What to expect this 2026-2027 winter season
- Highway 95 through Cambridge will be open to traffic.
- Due to a delay in getting the new signal equipment, the intersections at Fern Street and Dellwood Street will be all-way stops until the materials arrive and the signals are installed in mid-December.
- Please make complete stops, take turns, and watch for pedestrians and other drivers.
MnDOT thanks the Cambridge community and traveling public for their patience during the 2026 construction season and detour.
Construction will resume in spring 2027 as crews reconstruct and expand the final segment of Highway 95 west of Main Street to east of Fillmore Street, and Highway 95 will be detoured.
When complete that fall, travelers will benefit from a smoother, stronger highway; updated underground infrastructure and city utilities; and improved safety, access and traffic flow through Cambridge.
