The Free State MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT), Ketso Makume will on Sunday, 13 September 2026 host the Provincial Tourism Media Launch to outline the 2026 tourism month planned activities.
Tourism Month is celebrated annually in September with the aim to highlight the importance of tourism and its contribution to the economy and to raise awareness of social, cultural, and economic value of tourism as well as how the sector can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
This year's launch is designed to bring people together through the power of soulful music to create a vibrant atmosphere filled with good vibes and to offer unforgettable experiences for outdoor enthusiasts.
The planned tourism month activities seek to promote the province as a year-round destination for business, investment, lifestyle, Sports and leisure.
During the media launch, the MEC Makume will unveil the 2026 Provincial Tourism calendar of activities developed in collaboration with the Free State Gambling, Liquor, and Tourism Authority (FSGLTA).
The MEC will further highlight key tourism developments and initiatives being implemented in the province to promote and strengthen the local tourism economy.
