The AI Home leaves the lab: CASABOT Early Field Trial devices are now in homes across 7 countries
CASABOT ships EFT pre-production Gateway hubs and satellites running HiveOS to partners in 7 countries — on-device AI, no cloud, no data leaving the home.
Every smart home platform makes promises in a controlled demo. The only test that counts is a stranger’s home, on a network we’ve never seen, that’s why we are live in 7 countries and not 1 showroom.”
DIFC, DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- What the Early Field Trial is — and what it isn’t— Mario Schiano Lo Moriello, Chief Executive Officer of CASABOT
An EFT is not a product launch. It is deliberately the opposite: a limited, controlled programme in which pre-production hardware is placed with selected partners for structured evaluation before commercial release. The units shipping today are prototypes, supplied for evaluation under our EFT Agreement, not for sale.
That distinction matters. The purpose of this phase is to expose HiveOS™ and BOTty™ to the messy reality of real homes — mixed device fleets, imperfect Wi-Fi, KNX installations of varying vintages, Zigbee networks that behave differently in concrete versus timber, families who don’t read manuals. Lab conditions confirm that a system works. Field conditions confirm that it belongs.
What’s actually in the boxes
Each EFT shipment pairs a gateway with satellites — the distributed nervous system of the AI Home. The gateway runs HiveOS, our on-premise operating system that unifies more than 3,000 device brands across KNX, Zigbee, Matter, and Wi-Fi under a single local control plane. The satellites extend sensing and interaction throughout the home.
On top of that sits BOTty, our on-device AI agent. And this is where CASABOT departs from every mainstream smart home platform on the market: the intelligence runs at the edge. No cloud dependency. No audio streamed to a data centre. No behavioural data leaving the home. The AI that understands your household lives inside your household — which is exactly where it should be.
Why seven countries, and why now
We could have run this trial in one city. Shipping to seven countries was a deliberate stress test across dimensions that no single market can provide: different electrical standards, different dominant device ecosystems, different languages, different expectations of what a home should do. A platform that claims to unify the fragmented smart home industry has to prove itself against that fragmentation, not around it.
Our early partners — real estate developers, hospitality operators, and technology integrators — are now living with the system daily. Their feedback flows directly into engineering, and the distance between a partner observation and a HiveOS update is measured in days, not quarters.
What happens next
The EFT programme runs on a defined timeline with defined outcomes: hardware validation, integration coverage, on-device AI performance in real acoustic and network environments, and the operational playbook our distribution and systems integration partners will use at scale. What we learn in this phase shapes the production units that follow.
We founded CASABOT on a simple conviction: homes should evolve beyond shelter and measurably improve the quality of the lives lived inside them — without asking families to trade their privacy for it. Seven countries now have pre-production proof of that conviction sitting on their networks.
This is just the beginning.
