Russian River Railbikes invites families, couples, friends and visitors to celebrate the final big weekend of summer with a unique outdoor adventure along the Russian River.Russian River Railbikes will operate special Labor Day Weekend excursions September 5–7, 2026, offering guests the opportunity to pedal along historic Northwestern Pacific Railroad tracks while enjoying the scenery of Northern Sonoma County.
The approximately six-mile round-trip adventure begins at 425 Asti Road in Cloverdale and travels through the scenic Russian River area. Along the way, riders experience forests, vineyards, a historic tunnel, a bridge and views of the Russian River before stopping at the turnaround point to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Each railbike can accommodate up to four passengers, making the experience ideal for families, couples and groups of friends.
"Labor Day Weekend is a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy one of the most beautiful parts of Sonoma County," said Manly Hyde of Russian River Railbikes. "Instead of spending the weekend doing the same old thing, we invite people to gather their family and friends and pedal into the final big weekend of summer."
The leisurely railbike experience is designed to be accessible to a wide range of riders. The ride takes place at a relaxed pace, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery, railroad history and fresh air along the route.
Russian River Railbikes is a division of the Golden Gate Railroad Museum, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving and sharing California's railroad heritage.
