City urges everyone to travel with caution following Tropical Storm Lala

OʻAHU —The City is reminding everyone to please travel carefully on roadways, in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Lala. With widespread power outages reported across the island, we want to remind everyone:
• Treat non-functioning traffic signals as an all-way stop
• Be aware that street lights and lights in tunnels may still be out
• Be cautious on the roads as crews as still cleaning up debris, downed trees, and powerlines
• When an emergency vehicle is approaching with its siren activated, drivers are required by law to move over and give the vehicle a clear path
• Always listen and adhere to directions from Honolulu Police Officers
• Avoid downed powerlines, and call 911
• Pedestrians are reminded to look all-way when crossing
• Drive cautiously, carefully, and with Aloha

Areas including Waikīkī, ʻEwa Beach, and Waiʻanae are seeing heavier congestion and travel times due to non-functioning traffic signals. Please plan for extra time if traveling through these areas.
